Headed down to the newly opened Bucha in Darlinghurst for a friend’s birthday lunch last Sunday. With such a great location, I could not have found a better way to spend my Sunday than sitting on the balcony overlooking the city!! I had the roast of the day which happened to be a fabulous roast lamb dish, followed by an absolutely divine creme brulee for dessert. The place had such a great vibe and we were shocked how reasonably priced the food and wine were for an eastern suburbs establishment! Can’t wait to go back!

Warm and Cosy on a winter night
A little quiet on Sunday nights, but the place was gorgeous in a modern sort of way with an open kitchen - think Jones the Grocer (Woollahra) with a more rustic, dim atmosphere. Started off with a "Bucha Plate" which had amazing salmon gravalax, pork rilettes, and some sort of terrine. For the main it was roasted pork belly with a very buttery mash, Yorkshire pudding, apple sauce and green beans with pancetta. My friend had a steak that was made perfectly medium rare with a side of chunky fries. Great place for good friends, good conversation and an almost impeccable homely cooked meal. The wait staff were lovely too!
