With one of the best outlooks in Brighton, it would be all too easy for Brighton Jetty Cafe to get carried away with its own appeal and start aiming for the stratospheres of fine dining. Thankfully, this has not happened and the cafe remains the down-to-earth little diner that it has always been. The menu is predominantly Mediterranean but covers a broad range of dishes, from a generous seafood bouillabaisse to the ever-popular salt and pepper squid or an old-fashioned serving of fish and chips. Beyond these, the owner prides himself on his kitchen's flexibility, meaning that customers need not be afraid to request something a bit different from the dishes on the menu - a far cry from the customary intransigence of most fine-dining chefs. While the space is fittingly unpretentious, the spectacular sunset views over the jetty provide all the aesthetic appeal one needs.

Anti Vego
Hi, I've been to a couple of the wine dinners at this restaurant - which were both great. So when a friend visiting from the UK said she was staying in Brighton, I thought the Brighton Jetty Cafe would be the ideal spot - not so... Firstly, I got to the restaurant, 2 out of 8 of us had arrived, I looked at the menu and saw that there was not a vegetarian main on offer and a vegetarian would be arriving at our table shortly. The waiter was not helpful and told me I should have phoned ahead. Phoning ahead to let them know a vegetarian will be at the table?? Are you serious?? Rest of the food was ok, but nowhere near as good as the wine dinners. I won't be rushing back.

Great sea views
This is a great venue in winter and summer as the views are brilliant whereever you're sitting in the restaurant. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the wine. The food is brilliant - both times we've been we've ordered most of our meal off the specials board and have not been disappointed. If you can squeeze it in the pannacotta is great.
