There's no "bridge over troubled water" at Cape Bridgewater, one of the most serene spots on the Victorian coastline, and home of seal colonies, great walking tracks and other natural wonders. The Bridgewater Bay Beach Cafe offers a supreme scene in which to experience the cape, situated directly on the beach above the dunes. Beach umbrellas provide ample refuge from the sun in the alfresco seating area, though indoor diners can still breathe in the fresh sea air.
During the week, this cafe serves classic Aussie burgers, open sandwiches, wraps, soups, seafood, nachos and their famous fish and chips with salad. On Saturday nights, a more upmarket gourmet menu features Atlantic salmon, salt and pepper chicken skewers, and chocolate fondue. On these nights, and public holidays, it's especially important to book for this Bridgewater beauty.
