The iconic Brass Monkey of Northbridge is still the classic Aussie pub that Perthites know and love, but now it's got much more going on upstairs. The first floor is now a rather snazzy restaurant-cum-grill, boasting many original Federation features with a few tasteful modern touches. Chef Michael Kratz's aims to showcase WA produce, from Tenderidge beef and Timberhill pork, to Mount Barker chicken and Amelia Park lamb, all presented with contemporary flare. Fittingly though, he's kept it simple, no heavy sauces or flamboyant seasonings ruining the meat's natural flavours, and no poncy, hard-to-pronounce dishes. The grill has its own bar too, with comfy lounge suites inside and out on the balcony overlooking bustling William Street - perfect for those long Sunday sessions.
