For those who favour the grain over the grape, the lush Margaret River region must seem like a very dry landscape. Venture a little way off Caves Road however, and you'll stumble upon an oasis of amber nectar. The award-winning brews at Bootleg are all preservative-free and full of beery flavour, from the fruity Settler's Pale Ale to the traditional Czech-style Wills Pils and the British-style Tom's Brown Ale. For a lazy lunch overlooking the lake and expansive lawns, there is a selection of beer-friendly tucker available, such as the 'Raging Bull' beef pie; the grilled sirloin with creamy Settler's Pale Ale sauce; or the Wills Pils beer-battered snapper. On weekends in the warmer months, Bootleg guests are treated to light entertainment from local artists, with regular sets by the likes of Desert Radio, Veeva Feeva, The Heartstarters and The Skiffle Billys.
