Known for its glamorous costumes and dramatic storylines, Bollywood cinema successfully captures the hearts and minds of the Indian subcontinent. This eponymous restaurant, sitting in the heart of downtown Adelaide, aims to capture the hearts, minds and stomachs of Indian food lovers in the festival state.
With saffron-coloured walls, black high-backed chairs and white starched tablecloths, dining at Bollywood is a composed and elegant experience. An LCD television hums ever-so-quietly in the background, flickering with images of exotic dancers clad in bright fuchsia and amethyst, as diners here feast on North Indian specialties. These specialties include such dishes as butter squid, prawn basil curry and an alluring selection of orange-hued delights from the piping-hot tandoori oven.
Bollywood has a decent wine list too, featuring mostly South Australian drops. However, patrons can also choose to BYO, a perfect excuse to bring something special from the cellar.
