BlueFire specialises in churrascaria - Portuguese-style barbecue. Meats and seafood are grilled on enormous skewers over an open flame and are carved at the table to create a truly unique sense of dramatic occasion. This is simple food presented in an unusual way, so it seems entirely appropriate that Bluefire is situated in Docklands, Melbourne's newest restaurant quarter. BlueFire makes the most of this location with an enormous glass frontage and outdoor seating looking out over the water.

great night
Over the weekend i went to Bluefire for my wedding anniversary with my family and i have to say it was the best dining experience i have had. The food was spectacular and the service was fantastic. The price was low for the amount of food we all got. What a fabulous place, will be back for another delicious meal.

Great concept - service in desparate need of a lift
Our party chose churrascaria - and we were not disappointed (with the food anyway). It took an hour and two reminders for us to have a our first drink order and food orders taken. Dips etc were nice but it took a further 30 mins for the passadors to bring the meat(s) over - which I could not understand because all one would have to do is tell the passadors to frequent another table on their rounds! But as a meatlover I soon forgave this 'oversight' when we were 'lamb'bastered with many a meat. It was still a good night overall.

Let Down!!
A mass of confusion, 4 different waiters served us, bringing double drinks, cutlery twice, not having steak knives. Waiters were asked on many occasions to turn the air-con down, but no result. One waiter did not understand what sour cream was, and wasn't sure who to ask if it was served with their wedges or not. Sometimes waiters would come ask questions more than ones, not bringing what we asked. Our platter of dips was served after our mains, which we waited over an hour for, where one main was served before any of the entres. Meats were seasoned with too many flavours, some were unbearable. Only positive was 1/2 price Tuesday, because paying full price would have topped off an unacceptable outing. I recommend you go on a 1/2 price Tuesday in case you are let down like we were.

More than disappointed!
We were impressed by the atmosphere - but disconcerted by being one of two tables (another couple seated some time after us). Ordered the churrascaria as it seemed the most intriguing option. The service was ok to start, but rapidly declined. Dips and bruschetta were fine. The plate of vegetables with the churrascaria contained a load of overcooked potatoes, limp carrot and overcooked corn. We had to send the first lot back as they arrived at the table stone cold. Second lot took longer to come out and were warm but tasted like the same plate put back in the microwave! The table seated 15 minutes after us was served first (a petty gripe, granted), yet they also received water without asking (we had to ask) and refills (also had to pointedly ask). Had a glass of wine (poured from the bottle) emptied due to a bug, yet not replaced. To top it off, they handed us the wrong bill! Out of 3 tables!

Churrascaria.
Our party opted for the above. A bottle of wine was ordered, glasses poured then it was placed well away from our table, necessitating in us retrieving it when no refill was forthcoming. Our waitress reeled off a list of menu items to accompany our entree platter, I wish she'd mentioned that these cost extra! The entree was great. The staff were in no hurry to remove our plates, resulting in quite a wait for the mains.Eventually out came the parade of chewy, overdone meats. The vegies were lovely. Our guests enjoyed the theatrics of the service. We were suprised to find this restaurant added G.S.T on top of the bill. Cheers!

Not family-friendly; ordinary taste
Our family of 6 and a close friend dined for the first time at Blufire Melb Central to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Four chose the churrascaria, the other 3 chose mains from a-la-carte. Being first timers not informed of the house rules, we tasted each other's foods as we always do as a family, until a waitress told us off, saying we'll be charged for sharing! By golly - since when is tasting other's food order prohibited??? Also, we are celebrating a happy family occasion, as they were informed earlier, so why not bend a ridiculous rule a little? We're not trying to be cheap either, otherwise we could have ordered for 4 to be shared by 7, eh? we were not impressed by the churrascaria experience at all. Bread dry, not fresh; bruschetta served cold; dips and dipping sauces 'commercial' varieties; meat marinade weak, no aged flavour; fish not fresh, tasteless. Small saving grace- shanghai tea served in a glass decanter with flower-in-bloom inside (mistakenly served instead of jasmine). They just lost a potential favorite customer!

Disapointed
Disappointed since I was the one who arranged a group of 10, we found the food to be average, service was also poor. Initially we were told we could not have normal water, our waiter told us that we must order bottle water, manager corrected this. Not value for money.

Meatlover's Delight
I recently celebrated a birthday and can highly recommend this venue for any meat (or non-meat) lover! Service and atmophere was great. I would be interested to try the breakfast/ lunch options. We did not walk away hungry.
