Wonderful Meal
Had a beautiful meal here. Service was outstanding- very attentive wait staff. They only lost points by neglecting to ask if the two of our six person party not drinking wine would like a juice/soft drink. I had the confit duck, which was magic, my partner had the seared salmon, which looked divine. Beautifully presented food, cooked to perfection. Desserts were also lovely, and immaculately presented. It was a shame we arrived after sunset and missed the beautiful view. We will definitely be back during day light hours to enjoy the amazing food again.

go for the view
I've gone here several times for family celebration dinners and the views over the river are worth the money. However, I do find the food overpriced and feel you could eat elsewhere better and cheaper, but then you don't get the view. The service has been good every time, very friendly and helpful.

A bit over-rated
Went to Bluewater last night for a special occasion. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and service was quite prompt. We had the Turkish Bread with Artichoke Dip to start which was okay, the dip was quite unique.
My girlfriend then ordered the Beer Battered Bronze Whaler Shark with Chips which was quite good and a solid serving, but nothing too spectacular. I ordered the Herb Roasted Free Range Chicken which was mediocre. The potatos were very good, but the chicken was quite bland. In addition to this, the serving size was pretty average as well, $36 for 2 medium pieces of chicken with some vegetables was a bit over-priced, but I guess you expect that from this restaurant.
We decided to bypass dessert and head out.
Overall - the starter and Shark were acceptable, but for $36, i hardly recommend the Free Range Chicken - quite bland and hardly any flavour. Things were left to be desired.

An all-rounder
We had dinner for 4 and on the whole it was enjoyable night out. The menu is not adventurous but what it does it does well. We found the staff to be friendly but not particularly knowledgeable about the food on offer - a question regarding the menu was met with "I don't know I've never eat it" rather than "I don't know but I will find out and let you know". The location is beautiful - one of the best in Perth without a doubt. We would eat there again and consider it definitely worth a try.

So glad I went!!!
I had heard of Bluewater Grill from various sources and finally decided to go - I wasn't disappointed. The place is gorgeous and sits in the grounds of the beautiful Heathcote centre, right on th river. So many good spots to sit here; our table outside had uninterruptd views of the river/city. And even though it was hot, the awning overhead helped keep us cool. the food was just good hearty food that's was well cooked. The chef clearly knows what he's doing and does it well. Such a pleasant dinner, and after our meal we went for a great walk around the path next to the river.

not quite right yet...
good but could be even better. the view is first class and the main reason i booked on this occasion. Food is competent, but safe. service was held up by the manager and a member of staff but let down by others still trying to find thier feet. parking was a problem on this day and prices are getting up there. i would like to see the menu a bit more exciting and diverse. overall a nice day however...

I heart Bluewater Grill
A return visit for our chicks dinner soiree. Normally we find a different place each time, but we had to come back... so so good!
Sadly the cooler night meant sitting inside so the spectacular view that adds so much to the already amazing food and service was not a part of our night - but that's totally ok.
This place is a must try... always a favourite.

Perth's best restaurant!
We went to Bluewater Grill for dinner whilst visiting Perth, and the experience was amazing. Without being pretentious nor overpriced, it was modestly elegant, cosy and full of atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food immaculately present, and the views over the Swan River amazing! Without even eating the food we were in love with this little Applecross hideaway at the back of Heathcote, and then after we tasted the food, OHMYGOD! The food was superb! The steak was the best any of us had ever tasted! It was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth! the duck entree was delectable, the parmesan, pear and rocket salad a perfect acccompaniment, and the desserts salivating! Highly recommended for any occasion, and there's a great function and private dining room perfect for a wedding or engagement party.

Basic dishes cooked very well
Upon my second visit to Bluewater Grill, I was welcomed with friendly enthusiasm from staff as we were quickly shown to our table. The service was snappy, however we were asked to order our mains several times which become a little tedious. The view over the Swan on a clear day is spectacular; I am confident this eatery will come into its own on a beautiful summer's day.
The food was moderately priced for a lunch, walking away with a bill of just over $70 for a pizza as well as fish and chips, beers and coffees.
I did enjoyed lunch however I would recommend Bluewater for dinner as the larger dishes on the menu (comprising mainly of seafood) are spectacular, particularly the salmon and swordfish!

My party of four went to this restaurant with the words of rather mixed reviews in our ears - and ended up feeling so disappointed and angry with the meals and service that we left immediately after the main course, refusing to spend another cent!
Our very simple order consisted of 1 bottle of wine (basic white at $33 each), turkish breads and dips for entree, water and a bowl of ice, 1 scotch fillet medium-rare, 2 snapper and 1 paprika chicken. What we got was, the very expensive bottle of white, warm water, no ice, no entree at all, and around 30 minutes later the arrival of our mains - paprika chicken was very nice but over cooked, the scotch fillet was the thinnest I have ever seen and underdone to the point of being blue in some places, and the 2 snapper meals ($32 each) were clearly HALF a fillet each, rubbery and tasteless!
We were do disgusted that we left and went to the Raffles for dessert rather than give the Bluewater Grill any more of our time or money.
My recommendation is that this place is great for a drink, truly lovely location & views - but do not eat here as the service and cooking is substandard.

Great views and good value
Great location and excellent food. Beautiful views during day but not so good at night. Mezze plate was great value and tasty+++++++++. Less than $150 for meal for 2 with a couple of beers each and a nice bottle of wine was better value than we expected too. A little noisy on the night we went and inexperienced waiter who was very keen but forgot a few things and dropped a plate.

A place to remember always...
This is one of those places that will become an iconic dining experience for those who love Perth and know what makes eating here so special.
The 180+ degree view is superb over the Swan River to the city and more at any time of the day - and even in any weather!
The tasting plate had delicious morsels done to perfection such as the soft-shelled crab (also at Fraser's) and the beef carpaccio was meltingly good. The chocolate and almond cake with Turkish delight ice-cream was so good it's wrong to share it! Bottles of wine and bubbly make it even better.
This is definitely a place to return to many times over for the more special occasions in life... but don't wait too long to discover this gem. The grounds of Heathcote are superb picnic land too - with a wheelchair-accessible playground to enjoy for kids of all abilities!!
Wheelchair access includes close accessible parking, flat entry and accessible toilet.
