Blue Denim Wallan

A great local cafe is like oxygen: It isn't a big deal until you don't have it anymore. Blue denim is definitely one of those great cafes which makes your suburb that much better.

It's hard to pinpoint exactly what makes a cafe great but Blue Denim is a good example. Consistently good coffee, fresh food and friendly service are all in ample supply but it's the intangibles that really make the cafe. Blue Denim has a relaxed vibe that just makes it a place you want to spend more and more time in.

Unsure why people complain about pricing. Although out of Melbourne, the costs associated with making food is the same! Great food and atmosphere. Some waiting staff a little vague. One of only a couple of eat outs in the area and probably the best.

Coffee only
Great coffee and service, shame about the food, which was over cooked.

Nice cosy suburban cafe
The Blue Denim Cafe in Wallan is a semi modern cafe located in a shopping centre. The food is well crafted and tasty, but often pricy. The wait staff are friendly and courteous. The monte christo is excellent but can be quite heavy.

Ok, but pricey
Have been to Blue Denim a couple of times (used to live in the area). The dine-in food was pretty good, service ok. But realistically, they are charging a bit more thab I expect to pay in Melb and the food was not quite as good. Not bad, but still think I'd rather pay the petrol and drive down to Brunswick St.

Pizza ... don't go there. We got take away pizzas, which, after waiting more than 30 mins for early in the evening, were undercooked and had little topping. We were so peeved, we called the manager - something we've never done before. He was very nice and apologetic, and offered us replacements next time we were in. We took up the offer, but had exactly the same problems. Pizzas from the $7 place down the street are nicer!

Great For Everyone Except For...
I am a (new) mother to a five-month-old baby. I loved the look of this place so I decided to take some friends for a coffee here. One of whom also has a baby. Upon entering this cafe I was approached by a young female staff and told me that they do not have facilities available for prams.

One of my favorite places to eat...
Me and my husband submitted this restaurant for inclusion originally, because we believe it is truly a great place to eat. On average we go and have a meal at least once a fortnight and we have never had anything but the best from these guys.

Anthony is a great chef and host, who uses only the finest and freshest ingredients to make meals of outstanding quality to offer locals and tourists alike.

I live close to this restaurant, but have no qualms visiting the city for a great meal - now I dont need to, since one of the best places to eat is now at my doorstep...ooh and those Monte Cristo's are to die for!

For people moving up from Melbourne, Blue Denim is a welcome addition to a growing country town. The food is hearty and fresh, with a wide range of tastes catered for. Staff can seem a bit uninterested at times, but then might suprise you by going out of their way with little touches.

The menu's priced a little higher than what you'd expect outside of Melbourne for a cafe, but then the food and atmosphere exceeds country town expectations.
