Blu Water Grill

Looking onto the shopping centre's outdoor feature fountain, Blu Water Grill is blessed with a great location in the middle of everything, but that doesn't detract from the relaxed vibe of the place. In fact, pulling up an umbrella-shaded table outside is the best way to enjoy a catch-up with friends.

A huge brekkie selection runs through the requisite omelette, muesli and eggs Benedict offerings, as well as a few fresh surprises such as pawpaw salad and a brekkie wrap. For lunch and dinner, the mix of Mediterranean, European and modern Australian foods means you won't be stuck for enticing culinary choices (just a couple of these are the handmade potato gnocchi, American barbecued pork spare ribs and the seafood bouillabaisse).

Overpriced - promised more than they could deliver
For starters we ordered half a dozen Sydney Rock Oysters baked with prawn and scallop mornay. Sounds good, doesn't it? Luckily we did not order more. It was a fishy oyster covered up with cheese. Price $13.90.
I had "risotto" of the day (mushrooms, chicken, spinach, tomato). It did not deserve the name risotto if you expect a sticky italian rice dish with the flavours nicely blended together. It was more like round grain rice with ingredients cooked together. Simply below average, price $22.80. My wife ordered Linguini with lobster. Price $28. I was suspicious because they said it comes with "half a lobster" from W.A. What came was a huge portion with huge chunks of "lobster", the taste was far from refined or artful. It was plain / mediocre, certainly not what you expect from a $28 dish.
The service was friendly but a bit on the slow side and at least some of the staff were not well trained. They provided high chairs for the kids and colouring in material, which was very helpful.
The dishes sound fancy and inspired but the actual dishes do not live up to what they promise. The total bill was $111 for 2 Adults (no deserts) including 1 kids meal and 1 kids ice cream but only 1 Glass of wine. disappointing. For us the best was the wine we brought ourselves.

One of the Best
I'm a regular amongst many other regulars at this wonderful restaurant which always delivers. The staff is most welcoming, the food consistently good, and the buzz friendly and engaging.

A lovely restaurant in Sydney's far North. Very good food, service and atmosphere.

A very consistent experience, along with a singing waiter!
