Blu Ginger offers an impressive range of Indian food. Many of the dishes will be familiar to diners, including a burning hot vindaloo, lamb rogan josh and plenty of tandoori. In an admirable effort to educate consumers, the menu includes snippets of information about where many of the dishes are from. For example, diners might be interested to note that one of the fish dishes originates from Sri Lankan villages. Blu Ginger also uses halal meat.

Best Indian Food
We have been to Blu Ginger at least half a dozen times for lunch and tea and love it. The food is delicious -I didn't think I was a great fan of indian food till I ate there :-)
The service we have received has always been great. After the renovation the place looks very nice.

Lacking warmth
If you are from an Indian background, please read this carefully. But if you are not, then read and know how an Indian Restaurant didn't bother to serve an Indian family (with 2 kids) at 6pm because they didn't want to order dinner and have only Entrees, Coffee and only one dish. We were told by the butler that the day was Good Friday holiday and thus was busy and they were full although the whole restaurant was empty inside at 6pm. He said that they have paid huge money to the staff on a holiday and don't want to serve for 1 hour where the return is not justified. They have paid to open restaurant in an expensive locality to make money and not for Indian food publicity. We were shocked to hear that, but then mentioned if we like the food, we will order more food. On our threatening to complain, the butler himself suggested to complain to the owner as his owner has the same views and nothing is going to happen. We left after having such a bitter taste of Indian food outside India. Thus, if you really want to help preserving, trying or tasting Indian food and culture, please don't support this restaurant because there are many things to be considered in addition to food, ambience, service, value and promoting such a restaurant with disgusting behaviour and thinking at this age.

Great Food, Great Price
We always go to Blu Ginger when we don't feel like cooking. The food is of very good quality and not too pricey. It doesn't usually get too crowded, although it is good to book on weekends as McMahon's Point gets busy. Definitely a good, solid place for a meal.
