Once upon a time there were three brothers and a restaurant. The brothers were known as Thanakamonnun (Norman, Sam and Eric) and their restaurant, The Blanc. After enjoying many successful years cultivating said establishment, the brothers decided it was time to move to greener pastures, moving to the ground floor of the Grand Chancellor Hotel with their restaurant Blanc Bistro. Finally in December, 2008, the Thanakamonnuns settled in a bigger and better location with a slightly different name, the Blanc Bistro and Grill.
The multiple Restaurant & Catering Award-winning seafood restaurant maintains its commitment to using fresh local produce and a unique blend of international flavours. From freshly shucked oysters to the South Australia shellfish stew, featuring tomato, saffron, fennel, pearl barley and smoked paprika aioli, the menu scours the ocean floor for the best fish, and comes up swimmingly.
Meat and vegetarian meals are also on hand, including 400gm black Angus, O'Connell Premium cut rib eye steak, and green bean with roasted beet and almond salad. A bewildering wine list puts the cherry on top of this classy North Adelaide gem.
