Rising from the ashes of former haunt Pangaea, Blakstone Restaurant/Bar delivers a fresh new experience in capital-city dining - and drinking of course. It's a gastro-pub with a classy edge, as you'll see in the chic bronze-hued a la carte dining area peopled with mahogany tables and warm brown banquettes. Elsewhere, at the sleek marble-topped bar, it's all about casual cocktails and grazing plates (and perhaps a tall, dark and handsome type on the other side of the bar).
Going thirsty is not an option when you've got specially designed cocktails, fine local and international wines, eight beers on tap, and various select spirits and aperitifs, ports, dessert wines, cognacs and liqueurs. Back in the restaurant, the a la carte menu embraces modern Australian sensibilities with a fusion of Asian and European flavours, so you'll find everything from wagyu carpaccio, to Szechuan-crusted half duck, to a mighty 300g Angus rump cap.
