The windows at the Black Swan Winery Cafe look out over rolling vineyards and candlelight flickers across the handcrafted wooden tables on the balcony, where you can enjoy a glass (or two) of the local drop. With a menu and a view that changes with the seasons, supported by attentive service, Black Swan Winery Cafe is well worth the journey for an enchanted evening.

Mothers Day Madness
This meal was a disaster from start to finish. The restaurant advertised a three course set menu for $65.00 of which a deposit had to be paid to confirm your booking. The restaurant was way over booked, we were at a large table of approximately 12 adults and the space around our table was so limited we could hardly move in and out of our seats, every time we wanted to move it meant disturbing the diners at the table beside us. Service was poor and badly organized, at one point we ordered a drink 4 times before it actually came. Two starters did not arrive and only came when we asked where they were, we were left waiting approximately 10 minutes, subsequently everyone had finished when ours starters arrived. 4 people at the table selected the chicken main course only to be told later that they had run out! They ran out of Chandon champagne and the particular beer my father was drinking as well.
To try and appease us they did give us a complimentary bottle of wine and discounted the diners who had missed out on the chicken choice. The venue is lovely and it was a beautiful day weather wise but very poorly planned out and obviously they were way out of there depth. I would not return to this restaurant or recommend it to anyone.

Nice
I am a regular customer of the Black Swan On our recent trip to lunch the service was a tad slow after our orders were taken but i must say all the dishes we ate that day were lovely with the exception of the garlic bread which was very hard around the edges (which is why i only gave 4 stars for food) the lamb with cherry tomatoes mushrooms and asparagus was melt in the mouth the fish was superb and moist with a lovely flavour scallops and oysters were very nice all meals were nicely presented service was very friendly and we were greeted with warmth and good cheer by the owner even though tho the waitress never ended up bringing a coke that was ordered until asked a second time the restaraunt has a lovely relaxing view with the addition of the fish pond inside which is nice touch toilet facilities could be a bit cleaner and the fly problem needs addressing as they kept landing on my glass and food which put me off a bit over all a nice place to go, prices are quite reasonable when you consider they are using local wholesalers and wa owned business for their supplies i would recommend a trip to the black swan

Our review
We're locals and frequent the wineries and cafes regularly and found the scenery at the Black Swan beautiful. We were anticipating a great night out with friends. Once seated the service was cheerful and menus presented. Unfortunately when the meals arrived we did not expect a slither of meat accompanied by not much. For the piece of meat I consumed that cost $55 I could've bought a piece of beef that would have fed my family for a week. The chocolate tasting plate for $22 was also meagre but tasted nice. I was still hungry when we arrived home.

The food is as you would expect out in the Swan and the surrounds are serene to view. The service was extremely slow each time as have been twice and sat outside each time. Unfortunately there are a variety of bugs that insist on sharing but maybe night time would be different. Parking's good.
