The boardwalk along the Stanley Creek Stores complex is built in an L-shape, with the Black Panther Cafe tucked into its inside corner. Daytime sees a cafe menu sporting breakfast, a range of pizzas and $10 specials, while evening has more extensive meals on offer, including grilled barramundi and tandoori chicken. The Black Panther looks out onto the surrounding parklands, complete with views of the creek.

Wow!!!
When you walk into a place and everybody is enjoying their food, then you know you've gone to the right place. As we arrived, we saw the people sitting outside on the decking, all tucking into their food with that satisfied look on their faces. We ordered a large pizza supreme, with a salad. Seemed like we had only just sat down and taken one sip from our drinks when it all arrived. Best pizza I have ever had- better than Brisbane and Sydney(though that's not that hard to beat!)Honestly, great tasting, salad was good too. Finished with a couple of coffees. The care taken to do the patterns on top of the coffees were the icing on the cake! Best tasting coffee we had while we were in Halls Gap. (Tried a few other places, but this was the best).

Lived up to it's reputation!!
Stayed in Halls Gap for 4 days/ nights. Ate here every day and loved it. Slowly went through their menu. Wife was very happy too. Superb pizza and salads, try out their Caesar with chicken! Also loved their Tandoori chicken. All meals served to us were huge and tasted great great. recommend them to all.

Food Review
Pleasantly surprised by the standard of food presented here. Pizzas were excellent and far better than available at most places in Melbourne. 99 out of 100 people would leave this cafe and be back the next night to try something more exotic off their extensive menu.
The only person who wouldn't be ecstatic with the food and service at this cafe would be the 1 in 100 who complain wherever they go and whatever they buy.
Truly a quiet little jewel in the Halls Gap. Great coffee, the best we had in Halls Gap. A credit to the owners and staff. Keep up the good work.

Food review
We ordered a take away pizza from the Black Panther cafe and it was terrible. The pizza base was dry, overcooked and the topping had no taste, and seemed like it had been cooked at least 3 times over! By the time we got to the cafe to pick up our order, the pizza was stone cold. Definately not what you expect from a pizza ordered 20 mins prior!
Do not recommend this place to eat at. However, the only good thing about it was the hot chocolate. There is no place in Halls Gap that I would recommened to anyone to eat at as all of them were so down market and so badly made. They can't even make a decent cappucino. Get with it people in the country!
