As the Logan Road dining scene begins to sparkle, Bistrot Bistro, a modern Australian restaurant, is one of the shining stars. Appearing like a French-style bistro with its gold-lettered front signage, exposed brick walls, stripy booths, and snazzy gilded lighting, Bistrot Bistro is a classy space to have an all-day weekend brunch, a cavalier cocktail, or an all-out a la carte dinner celebration.
Focusing on the dinner menu, you'll see that starters are dubbed the "prologue" here, as if a literary adventure were about to come (a prescient thought given this very literary yourRestaurants description, and the impending reviews!). It's easy to submit to temptation when confronted with options like smoked ocean trout, apple and sand crab salad with fennel remoulade; lamb rump, confit neck, nicoise and gremolata; and lemon curd with a margarita sorbet and walnut candy.

1st time and not the last time
We just recently heard about Bistro and thought we would try it out. My husband and I are happy we did. The evening and setting was so romantic, the food was great and the service was up to scratch with Brisbane other better cafes etc... The evening was very busy when we arrived, but it was still a great night. Happy customers returning soon!

Maybe it was a bad day?
A friend and I visited for lunch, and we can only hope they were having a bad day. Overall, the food was delicious. However, service staff let the chef down with tardy service.
- Prawn beignets - excellent, although only two prawns - Oysters - excellent, although some were a little small - Wagyu salad - excellent, with extraordinary flavour combination - Beetroot salad - delicious, although the soft cheese could have had a little more bit and the leaves a little more pepper. One would also expect the kitchen could compromise a little when a side salad is being served as a course, in that as the customer would be eating directly from the plate, that the two extra serving forks would not be needed, and that perhaps it could be plated in something other than the deep dish used for a side salad - Coffee - one of us ordered a decaf cappuccino and was served a soy cappuccino. Brownie points should be allocated, though, that the waiter did ask the other person if they would like their coffee remade, so both at the table would be drinking fresh hot coffee at the same time. - Mango bavarois - delicious - Cherry and hazelnut torte - superb
I will try them again, in the hope that today was just an off day.

Thoroughly disappointed
We had been hearing good reviews of this relatively new restaurant, only to be very disappointed with the presentation & more importantly the taste of the food. After quietly consulting with our waiter to voice our concerns so that they may be addressed for others benefit in the future, it all blew out of proportion when exception was taken. The maitre' d was called, and then it only got worse from there. We were trying to get the message across that they needed to be pro-active with our comments rather than get affronted. The risotto appeared on a flat plate and looked like slops, no garnishing, and we could not eat it as the taste was just not up to scratch. The balance of the six meals were served a minimum of 8 minutes after the first three had been put on the table. End result - management took offence at being given feedback, we paid for our wine and were happy to pay for the meal but management said "don't worry about it, just go!" A shame we left hungry. They have lost six potential regular customers as the restaurant was a convenient place to have a meal prior to attending football matches. We were looking forward to having a regular haunt.
