This restaurant is just minutes away from the centre of the CBD, though this is belied by the leafy courtyard's tranquillity. Try the prawn, lime and lemongrass ravioli with arrabbiata sauce or the aged Gippsland sirloin with three-pepper salsa.

Degustation dinner at Bistro Lilly
A group of us gathered for a birthday dinner a Bistrot Lilly on a Friday night. When organizing the booking I had ordered the degustation menu for all with the option of the accompanying wine to be confirmed upon arrival. The table was nicely set up behind a partition so we had a bit of privacy. All courses were of reasonable size and the glasses of wine generous enough so we all left satisfied. The amuse bouche came with French Champagne then we had some lovely Pan-seared Canadian scallops, one of my favourite seafood when the dressing is right. The Truffled Duck Liver Pate was delicious with some crispy croutons. The Sirloin meat was just so tender and rare as you would expect when tasting some premium beef. We finished with some Creme Brulee which was also up to her reputation. May be I should mention that most of us are French from origin with a couple of wine connoisseurs. All commented on how good the food was and despite the combination of Riesling with the Scallops the choice of the wine was great too. The location behind Wineyard Station is great for any corporate lunch or dinner. And finally the value for money is outstanding compared with some other prissy venues in town.

I dined at Bistro Lilly after reading the Good Living review by Matthew Evans. It is a bistro worth visiting and the food is very special. I like the staff who are always smiling and very polite, it is such a refreshing change to have nice people waiting on you when you dine out .

A highly impressive restaurant that is always on the mark. No matter if it is lunch or dinner the food is consistently excellent and above expectations and the service professional, informed and very helpful. The wine list is also quite extraordinary for an inner-city restaurant.
