Best known from her days at Riverbank Estate and Menu on James, owner/chef Louisa Iacopetta is now head honcho at her own cafe gem which goes by the name of Bellisa Cafe. Forget breakfast in bed when you can have breakfast in Bedford - this cafe's brekkie bites are worth getting up for (caramelised apple pancakes or freshly baked banana bread, anyone?). The breakfast, lunch and dinner menus do change each month so it's worth returning to see what's next on the agenda - maybe a braised lamb shank and vegetable pie with a mixed leaf salad, or perhaps a spicy chicken, eggplant and tomato curry. This cosy cafe also sells giftware and cookbooks for the home-cook heroes out there.
