Lovely as always
Belle Epoque has always delivered a great experience for me, and dinner last night was no exception. I was interested to see how the new menu with a new head chef would be, and in short it is marvellous. Dishes with such a balance of beautiful flavours matched with great wine are always a delight at Belle Epoque. My guests were very impressed with their entrees and mains, however dessert is not what it used to be; the creme brulee a particular disappointment. What prevents me from giving a higher rating for food is the somewhat confusing focus of Belle Epoque now; is it meant to be a bistro or fine-diner? Previous menus have always had delicious, hearty French bistro inpsired food that never disappointed. The current menu certainly has outstanding options and each dish was beuatifully presented and tasted great (except dessert), but I still can't help but wonder what the focus of Belle Epoque is now. Still, highly recommended and I certainly look forward to my next visit.

pretty ordinary
It was a pretty ordinary dining experience and i will not be going back.
A small drumstick pack with a small piece of orange would have passed for the duck i was served. Staff were friendly enough though the whole package fails to deliver on what is promised - and is in no way value for money.

What a waste
Basically this; Belle Epoque is a Beautiful establishment that is unfortunately run by undertrained and very forgetful staff.
We arrived for breakfast on a Sunday morning, they were rather busy. We waited for our table for about 20 mins before being seated, no problem here except they said the wait would be 5 mins then never came back to tell us it would be longer. Once seated, we ordered our breakfasts, 4 different menu items. They first came out after about a 45 min wait. They ended up having to go back to the kitchen 3 times because they were all wrong, and in the end we just took them as they were, even though they were still incorrect. The food was delish, i have to admit. At this stage we ordered more coffees and juice because we had been waiting so long that we had finished our beverages. They never came. Once at the register to leave, we noticed that we had been overcharged as well as charged for the drinks we never received.
All in all, not the best money can buy. It is such a shame that a beautiful establishment can fall so far once in the door.

Great find!
After a friends recommendation, I made reservations at Belle Epoque. From the second I stepped inside I was taken back to my amazing trip to France. The atmosphere was incredible with stained mirrors, banquet seating, and pressed metal bar tops. I don't think anyone could have done a better recreation of the real thing! As soon as we arrived we were greeted well by lovely staff who continued to impress me the whole night.

A fun night out
I had been recommeded Belle Epoque from a good friend of mine after being reminded it was Bastille Day this week and hadnt booked dinner anywhere!

So we made a booking to come in on the 14th to celebrate Bastille Day, for the dinner service and were greeted by a lovely hostess who took us to our table, the first thing I noticed was the beautiful decor. The restaurant had a lovely ambience to it with the live music and chatter from nearby tables. Our waiter was very attentive who seemed to know alot about Bastille Day considering they were Australian! the set menu had a great selection and all from the main menu, I have to say I wasnt dissapointed. I had chosen Duck a la'orange which was so succulent I wanted more! All in all the night it was lovely evening and my husband and I highly enjoyed ourselves. only one suggestion...have the Can Can and live music played in the restaurant more often!

Treated poorly
Organised a special family birthday party for 8 people. We turned up on time and asked for out table. The waiter pointed to our table across the room and kept talking to another waiter. Bad service continued througout the night - waiter couldn't remember who ordered what meal, surly response to request for more drinks. Food was okay, and wine list was amazing- a bit out of proportion to the bistro type food.

Nice but pricey
Again, a highly recommended restaurant that is nice enough, but definitely not the be-all and end-all. The setting is very grand, very Parisian bistrot with high ceilings, mirrors a gogo and generous lashings of red velvet. A little cold though to be honest. The meal was quite delicious, although very expensive. We were very disappointed when we attempted to order in French and the Australian waitress said 'I'm sorry but I don't understand a word you're saying'. Quite a blow as part of the reason we chose this restaurant was to spend an evening speaking French. Otherwise, it was all quite pleasant. I don't know that I'll be making a regular habit of it though.
