Situated within the picturesque Badger's Brook Winery, this independently run restaurant has been creating a quiet stir all the way to Melbourne. The country cottage-style space is painted a becoming olive green and wrapped in one long verandah. The glassed walls look out over the vines and the distant hills, setting an idyllic rural tone for the regional delicacies to come.
Organic sourdough is baked on site for sale to the public as well as use in the restaurant, and the kitchen gardens are raided daily, bringing new meaning to the common claim of "the freshest produce." Open for breakfast and lunch, the main events are chef Gary Cooper's five-course degustation dinners on Friday and Saturday nights. The menu depends on what looked good in the garden that day and the dishes are dramatically announced to the room at large at the beginning of the night. Diners might anticipate Italian-style gnocchi, carpaccio or perhaps a goat's cheese tart, but all dishes bear Cooper's elegantly creative stamp.

Gourmet Travller 2009 Australian Restaurant Guide - "A trip to Bella Vedere is worth doing properly, which can mean some weeks' wait for dinner. That's not to say that the restaurant at the Badger's Brook winery fails to please in the daytime. "

Superb
This is our favourite breakfast restaurant ever! Can't wait to try the dinner which has a set 5 course menu announced to the dining room prior to the meal. Don't miss walking through their kitchen garden where they grow their own fruit and veg. It's fab!

The best meal of my life
I visited Bella Vedere for my 9th anniversary with my wife, after getting a recommendation from the Ripe cafe in Sassafras, which shares a similar approach to food. I absolutely loved it, it was the best meal I've eaten.
