Delightfully located under grand London Plane trees with warm South American music in the background, Beess & Co Cafe is ideal for a superb meal or an exotic drink. Let the charming staff help you to relax and enjoy yourself over a chai or one of the famous Toby's Estate teas. Maybe one of the appealing juice combinations or perhaps a Cosmorex coffee is more to your taste. Choose from a truly international menu that offers meals such as a Spanish omelette served with chorizo sausage and baby spinach for breakfast, or perhaps the Spring Bay mussels with tomato, basil, garlic, white wine and chilli for dinner. The cafe caters to functions and also offers a monthly poetry night, which includes dinner and is hugely popular - bookings are essential.

Your kidding me
I had lunch at this place yesterday. My wife and I sat down and order a sandwich each. After 20 minutes we still did not have our lunch. The cafe was not busy either. I asked for our lunch to be made to take away as we were late for an appointment. When I opened my lunch after we had left I had 2 pieces of bread, no butter and a piece of ham and cheese. I had asked for a ham, cheese, tomato and chutney sandwich. We paid $9.50 for this. What a gip!!! Would not recommend this joint to anyone.

so casual. so good
Despite the cold, I still love having breakfast here under the trees. The staff welcome us back each time and I love their savoury choices. My wife sticks to the French Toast though - but is is great.

Average
The coffee here is mediocre. I've had better elsewhere.
I had poached eggs with toast, salmon and roasted tomato. I received one slice of toast, a decent serving of salmon, one tomato cut in half and two small 'poached' eggs. The poached eggs here are terrible. The yolks are completely overcooked and there is no egg white to speak of.
However, props for service. They came over promptly to bring me water and were pleasant throughout.
I heard they were voted one of the better cafes in Canberra. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong meal. I will try the scrambled eggs next time, or an omelette.
The hot chocolate here is very good though. Very very rich.

Always fantastic
I have been here for both brunch and lunch on many occasions and the food and service are always great. It can be hard to get a table during 'peak' times (brunch on the weekends), but just book ahead. Try the salmon scrambled eggs or hotcakes with berries - both are sensational!

my favourite brunch
I've been here a dozen times at least, and am bound to return a dozen more. Tucked away in a leafy corner, away from much passing traffic, this cafe's seasonal menu always has something special to offer. I particularly love the French Toast and the Spanish Omelette - they're always so fresh and flavourful.

A real gem
As a resident of Yarralumla it's wonderful to have this gem of a place here.
It is better during the week when its not so crowded with the weekend bruch crowd, but the lovely (and gorgeous) team are unfailingly polite and caring in their service and the food is wonderful value for money.
I've been told that they don't want to be too popular as that would spoil the atmosphere, but excellence deserves to be supported.
