The name may evoke images of madness but the team behind this venture have their heads screwed on and know exactly who they're catering for. Another Sydney bar in a New York state of mind, Bedlam boasts gilded mirrors, chandeliers and furnishings that are lovely on the eye and seating comfortable enough to sit in for a few lazy hours of great drinks and tasty food.
The menu of spicy fried chicken wings, soft shell tacos and gourmet hotdogs continues the on-trend persona but the tacos are a godsend, with fresh ingredients and original flavour combinations setting them apart from their contemporaries. Whatever this place may lack in originality is certainly made up by its fantastic location; there's an option of sitting with a street view (overlooking Glebe Point Rd and Victoria Park) or heading into the beautiful, lamplit, plush lounge basement.
