Not content to open just one or two new restaurants in a calendar year, Justin North - who already owns Becasse, Plan B and the Charlie & Co burger joints - has set up this chic little bakery and patisserie right on Sydney Harbour.
As the most affordable option of the five new outlets in the Opera Kitchen, Becasse Bakery serves budget-friendly versions of French-influenced crowd-pleasers like croque monsieur and toasted brioche. It may not be reinventing the wheel, but when a chef as accomplished as North starts serving you reasonably priced gateaux, you don't complain; you sit back and undo the belt.
