The Manly branch of Sydney's series of Bavarian Bier Cafes combines the best of Sydney coastal living and landlocked central European style. The cafe is perched on Manly Wharf, within pretzel-throwing distance of the ferry and with glittering views out over Manly Cove. Inside, the decor is less beach-chic than ski-lodge comfortable, with plenty of golden wood, stone and a fireplace for when the cool ocean breeze blows in. The menu similarly offers much to comfort chilly diners, from giant schnitzels to goulash and strudel. However, there are always seafood and salad options for scorching summer days, or one could be content with a cool stein of Lowenbrau Original.

Awesome place to go!
This is by far the best bar in Manly - not as pretentious as the rest of the town, and with the friendliest staff - no attitude here (not like some other places in Manly I could name). Food's good too, often my friends and I end up eating after a few biers and their tasting plate is awesome.

Way overrated!
This is a great spot and looks great, however the food is awful. Upon my visit I found the traditional bread I ordered was dry. My $20 prawn salad was woeful. The prawns were grey - no dressing on the salad, so all in all, tasteless. Table service was fine, however trying to pay the bill wasn't easy. Staff and management way too busy to take my money.
