Beer is what the Bavarian Bier Cafe is all about - beer and more beer. This is not to say that the food isn't lovely, just that it is made to go with ale. Mussels, bratwurst sausages with mash and smoked meats are all delectable - especially with a cold one. The Michael McCann-designed space is filled with long wooden tables and edged with cosy booths, but dominated by the bar - just as it should be in a place this passionate about the amber brew.
