BarZaar

BarZaar is a contemporary crowd pleaser: sleek but welcoming, colourful and comfortable. Ladies who lunch do so by the courtyard's water feature or planted firmly in the dining room's cushioned cane chairs, while their kids are amply entertained by the plasma screens. Meanwhile, the bar is a suit magnet, with happy hours attracting a local corporate clientele. With drink in hand, the sleek lounges offer an opportunity to soak in the warm, cherry decor and graze on a trio of dips before dinner.

Move on to the main menu to discover light, fresh dishes such as salt 'n' pepper squid right alongside more hearty fare. Slow-cooked lamb shanks are matched with the timeless pairing of a red wine glaze and creamy mash, while the combination of a kangaroo fillet and a red currant glaze keeps the menu from getting too predictable.

Lovely food & good service
We visited for a family birthday. The service was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good, particularly the seafood platter, linguine and gnocchi. The gravy on the schnitzel looked a bit like it was from a packet though. All in all a very enjoyable evening at a most reasonable price. I wish they could screen off the sound of the gaming room a bit better, but we made a fair bit of noise ourselves so it was bearable.

Hot Chocolate
Before it was BarZaar on Unley Road, the building once was a post office and then became a play caf? then second hand clothes store. After some very significant renovation, it is now a comfortable Bar and restaurant.

The hot chocolate was $3.50. It came in a tall glass with a handle like at the Highgate Snack Bar, Manto and others . It was topped with creamy froth and a sprinkle of cocoa. This was a good long drink and was reasonably chocolaty.
