With a name inspired by Barcelona, Barca presents a fine array of Spanish flavours, mixed with global fusion cuisine. This Armadale eatery pairs continental cuisine with a European wine bar ambience - polished floorboards and watercolour paintings flow from the front dining space to a raised bar area and upstairs private room.
The tapas grazing platters take on international themes, like the rustic ploughman's plate with cheeses, cold cuts and relish; or the mezze platter, with olives, dips and balsamic ciabatta croutons.
Barca's dishes include paella, featuring Moreton Bay bugs, pipis, prawns, calamari and chorizo; and licorice-smoked duck breast, served with sauteed cabbage, caramelised apple and parsnip. Dessert is an inspired selection of classic favourites, such as lemon curd tart, side-by-side with new-world offerings, such as the Barca bomb - a blend of Jagermeister or Belvedere vodka and Red Bull sorbet.
