From the oh-so-cool kids at oh-so-cool Richmond bar Der Raum, this place opened in mid-2011 to minimal fuss but has unsurprisingly garnered plenty of attention from eager locals since. The city's Friday afternoon drinks scene is eminently improved with this simple, hole-in-the-wall, European-style bar, as are the morning coffee scene and the lunch rush, with Burch & Purchese bites on offer for those with a sweet tooth and a small but solid food menu of soup, bruschetta and the like. To wet your whistle, drinks have a clean, fresh edge and classic aperitifs such as Campari are served on hand-cut ice and carbonated in-house. It's classic, old-style drinking at its best, with none of the pretension but all of the style of the modern.
