Balmain is now in on the beer phenomenon that's sweeping Sydney, following the first two Belgian Beer Cafes in Cammeray and The Rocks. The Balmain Belgian Beer Cafe is all about letting the good times flow, and what better way than with finely brewed artisan, draught and Trappiste beers, and carefully matched European culinary creations, like the specialty mussels, the Belgian-style sausages, and pork belly cooked in beer. Echoing a 1920s Belgian bistro with its mahogany hues, marble and zinc-topped bars, vintage curios, and old-fashioned beer posters, this is a prime watering hole and dining spot for garrulous groups of friends.

Diner review
I was looking forward to the famous mussels but disapointed by the somewhat bland broth. Wait staff may have been new to the job but delivered my partner a meal she had not ordered. I had completed my mussels by the time her original order arrived. On the positive side the beer was great!
