This tiny, popular restaurant is worth the crush for its tasty South-East Asian dishes that span the sub-continent from India to Thailand. The takeaway line stretching down the street and around the corner tells you it's worth the wait for a table in this tiny little restaurant so you can try the huge, steamy dishes straight from the kitchen. The food is fast and full of flavour and varies from Chinese dim sims to Indian samosas and Thai noodles. The geography of the dishes may vary but the quality is constant, straight from the hot wok, loaded up with fresh produce and crisp vegetables. You may leave the restaurant happy to stretch your legs after its cramped conditions, but your belly will be satisfied and you'll have plenty of spare change.

Quick!
I bring shame on my hospitality roots by speaking favourably about any food that is served to me from a bain marie, but I make no apoologies for I love Bala's. I cannot go past the butter chicken and the Thai yellow tofu. I only wish they still had the coconut rice. It's quick and its yum and yes it's better if you don't go during that time of the day where the food may have been sitting there for a little longer than is ideal!
