Situated in an old Victorian terrace from the 1870s, the Baden Powell Hotel retains a classic charm about it, while also moving head-first into the 21st century with a stellar refurbishment in 2009. Now featuring a private event area, two main dining rooms, three bars, an outdoor courtyard, and short-term accommodation rooms, the hotel is most certainly an all-in-one Collingwood experience. Chef Raymond Larkins serves up a mix of rustic and modern Italian dishes, including the specialty thin-pastry pizzas. These are best enjoyed in the beer garden, where eight local micro-brewed beers are available on tap (that's right folks).

Smokin' Pub
Chatter about this pub is being thrown around town. Left right and centre people tell me "the pizza is amazing darling" or that "those prawns, ooohhh". Maybe I embellish my friends speech, but the general consensus is there. Apparently this place is good. I check it out. Good. New fit out. Good. Greeted upon entry. Good. So far eh. Good. I like saying. Good There's no table service I'm told by staff who sit me quick. They promptly pour water for me and co. I like water. Its good.
Diavolo pizza arrives with prawns and salad. Yep. Thin pastry cooked on stone they say. Little charred spots adorn the pizza and speckles of semolina compliment the base. Seriously good. Freshly sliced prosciutto is laid on top of a great sauce and just melted mozzarella. It's really good. The prawns are char grilled after long marination in basil and chilli. We squeeze some lemon them and happily chow down on good unpretentious food and soak up the atmosphere. A bottle of Montepulciano is quickly guzzled back and after a couple of beers from two brothers we sit back and contemplate.
Lifes good. We're happy, full and haven't blown a fortune for once. Yeah, this pubs smokin' we say.
