This has to one of the worst dining experiences I have had, in a long while. While the food was ok, the service was terrible! First of all it took ages to order, and they were hardly busy at all. Then when my french toast arrived, it was plain toast and one of the slices hadn't even been toasted both sides. Apparently there was confusion when I asked for the sweet French toast, not to be made with raisin bread, but rather another type. Anyways 45 min or so I eventually received my meal. The reason for the delay, being that "the boys are being silly". What the heck does that mean?

Then when I went to pay, seemed to have trouble finding the table. I said to him, "I had" before I was rudely interupted by him saying WAIT! Then he proceeded to give me a bill with two additional lattes on it which I said weren't mine and had already been paid for, at which point he said to me "If you are rude to me I will be rude back". Even if my tone was a little irritated, what ever happened to the customer is right, or even just a bit of professionalism.

I've eaten at Babar in the city a couple of times, and overall I find the menu is quite small and the food lacks flavour. The coffee was burnt, (I'm no coffee connoisseur, but I can usually tell the difference between bitter and just plain burnt), and don't even bother with the desserts.

I just go to Babar when friends decide to go there. I was there for lunch and ordered prawn and chorizo risotto. The rice was like porridge, and it was quite oily - you fry the chorizo, but keep the fat. I couldn't eat at all. My risotto is much better.

About the service....we first asked what was the soup of the day and the waiter couldn't tell us. I think you must know about the menu before serving anyone.

I was talking with another friend about Babar and she also had a terrible experience over there. Ordered some wedges and they were burnt. She did complain and they just removed the most burnt ones!!!

We are not coming back and I woud not recommend it to anyone.

This place use to be OK. What's happened? The waiter who served us had way too much attitude to smile, be pleasant or appear as though he was actually there to help us.

I've had two bad meals at Babars in the last 12 months:
-a Babar salad that was too plain and small for its price tag
-chicken in a gnocchi dish that tasted precooked and reheated.

I thought I'd try it again for coffee, cake and drinks - I didn't think they could muck that up. But the service was so bad it made it an unpleasant experience. I won't return.

This is a restaurant strictly for the teens only. It has a superficial appearance of being moderately up-market; however, the service is so poor, combined with average food, that it's anything but... That's what happens when you try to maximise profit by having high turn-over young staff who couldn't give a jot...and don't know the most basic things about food or drink...or service...

I had a late dinner here on a Saturday night - the low service rating I've given is probably due to it being a weekend. The water took forever to arrive to our table, but the food (pizzas, wedges and the garden salad) were delicious, especially the 'jungle' pizza. I am very keen to visit again.
