Thai restaurants aren't exactly rare these days, but good ones are still worth their weight in gold. This is a compliment often paid to Baan Krua Thai after tasting their range of mouth-watering Thai staples. Head here for fragrant curries, fiery stir-fries, and an outstanding version of the favourite winter warmer, the masaman beef curry.

Outstanding as usual
We visited Baan Krua Thai last Friday night and overall it was a great experience. The staff were attentive and pleasant, the decor is adequate and the food was delicious. We started with butterfly king prawns, spring rolls and salt and curry puff, all of which were great.
For mains we had a Thai beef salad, the beef was very tender and tasty. We also had a stir fried cashew nut with chicken, fried rice and a beef massaman curry. The salad and the cashew nut chicken were the stand outs. All in all great Thai food. Will definitely be back.

As good as Thailand!
Went to Baan Krua Thai with my boyfriend on a Saturday night. After reading all the positive reviews on this place we were looking forward to a great Thai meal and it did not disappoint. The staff were courteous and attentive throughout the night and made us feel very comfortable and looked after. The ambience and setting was lovely - you didn't feel like you were in the heart of Wollongong. Very cosy for couples but it would suit families as well. All dishes on their menu looked fantastic with value for money prices. The curry puffs were light and crisp, the salt and pepper soft shell crab was the best I have tasted and the chicken with vegies and cashew nuts was a favourite. After spending 8 weeks travelling all over Thailand you know good Thai when you eat it! Definitely would dine here again and will highly recommend to friends and anyone to visit if in Wollongong.
