Excellent food & outdoor seating
It was a beautiful autumn day sitting on the verandah overlooking the lake. Excellent outlook. Our waiters were very personable and could not do enough for us. The meals were good, with the yogurt and wild honey being particularly good. We can recommend Axis for breakfast.

Sydney style in Canberra a real treat!
Booking site unseen from Sydney for a very special birthday lunch for my 70-something mother and family, this restaurant was a delight from the first phone call. Nothing was too hard, menu explained over the phone, wonderful staff remembered me when I called back to make the booking, and this same Maitre'd delivered as promised - saved us the best table with a magnificent view, and the service was impeccable, matched throughout with a gourmet meal.
WE'll be back and will happily recommend to friends.
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary. We found the food and the service to be outstanding. The atmosphere was also quite excellent, althought the table of people next to us spent the night whining about faults with the food & service, which put a little dampener on our evening. We paid the bill and left, and when I looked over the receipt the next day realised we had been charged for an entire bottle of sparkling wine instead of a glass. Although this didn't affect our enjoyment on the actual evening, it annoyed me that it had happened. So our bill should have been about $48 cheaper. I wish we had noticed on the night. We will definitely go back to Axis again, but we will make sure to check the bill before offering payment.

John and Diana Riddell
This was our 55th wedding anniversary and both sons and grandchildren were there. We enjoyed it immensely, particularly the food, views and service. The only reservation is the awful caterwauling noise coming from the speakers, which we couldn't escape and even the teenagers couldn't abide. Otherwise we have no hesitation in recommending it to our friends and acquaintances.

Small private function
This was the third time we had visited the Axis for dinnner. We organised a family function negotiated a menu and had selected our own premium wines for this meal. Can only say it was superb by popular vote from 10 people. A similar experience to the previous visits.

3rd Time Unlucky
Having thouroughly enjoyed two previous visits to Axis, I was disappointed at our last visit with friends from Sydney. Three of us ordered the tasting plates which varied wildly in size. Three tiny pieces of beef in the carpaccio (to be shared by three people!) yet the risotto was huge! Whilst the quality of the food was ok, for the prices charged I had to only give 2 1/2 stars. The fourth meal which was requested to come out at the beginning came out last.

Elegant food and an aesthetic location!
The food was as picturesque as the view, and as tasty as the eyes led you to believe.
Well done Axis Restaurant, I will be back for more.
