A constellation of uniquely-shaped low-hanging lights orbit around one another in the main dining room of Avenue Road. This cafe, unlike its name, has no difficulty defining itself when it comes to the menu.
On offer are dishes such as the house-cured trout served with corn fritters and an avocado salsa. There's a broad selection of original sandwiches available too, but locals boast that the coffee, created by boutique South Australian roaster Cafe Rio, is truly sublime. Luckily for caffeine-craving Mosmanites, Avenue Road opens at 6am on weekdays, for those early birds in dire need of a hit of espresso.
