Auge

Auge is retro, stylish and has a lovely blend of colour and light. The '70s inspired gold tiles complement the floor-to-ceiling mirrors, elegant table settings and funky sunflower centrepieces. Why not soak in the atmosphere while enjoying an aperitif at the bar and then enjoy the authentic Italian cuisine in the dining room? The house-made gnocchi with gorgonzola and spinach should not be missed.

Auge restaurant.
As an out of towner , this is the fourth time i have been here but the first while a member of this board.
Yhe atmosphere and front of house is lovely, i like to head to the bar first for a pre dinner drink but i guess others dont. The service you simply cannot fault, equal with the best in S.A. I found the food on this visit to be not as adventurous as on previous occasions but still very , very good. As in previous reviews , the entree was spectacular but the mains were not up to the entree standard but not far off. Definately made up for in the desert and cheese section though.
I still put this in Adelaids top 3 restaurants.

Food a let down
Agree that the service, atmosphere and wine list are great. The entrees were very tasty and well priced, however, the mains were well and truly overpriced with tiny proportions. To put this in perspective, I have dined at restaurants OS rated in the top 30 (3 star Michelin) and have had bigger serves in degustation menus (leaving my taste buds in awe) at less or equivalent per dish than the mains at Auge. Unfortunately my taste buds were left wanting at Auge. Don't mind paying the price for that size main, as long as it's inspiring.

Slick
Please, please, please go and eat their white chocolate mousse. Desserts that good should not be left on a coolroom shelf.

Pure class
Firstly it is vital to book ahead (to avoid disappointment). The attention to detail is second to none, the food is expensive by Adelaide standards, but it is all superb quality, well-matched flavours. Staff need to learn not to wear perfume, girls and boys, as it does detract from the excellent food and especially the wine. Extensive wine list. Memorable night of fine dining, will definitely go again.

Great atmosphere, love the bar separated from the main room by glass wall and water feature. Service was very good, just the right amount of fussiness. The food was excellent with some adventurous dishes. Very good value for money considering the level of quality in food, service and atmosphere. The only very minor complaint would be the difficulty getting out from the bench seats along the wall tables.
