Assisi Cafe Ristorante

Like a warm hug from nonna, Assisi Cafe Ristorante provides a warm and welcoming sanctuary for anyone who loves home-style Italian cuisine. The flavours of Tuscany float into dishes like seafood cannelloni, homemade lasagne, merluzzo impanato (bread-crumbed whiting), and anatra arrostita (crispy roasted half duck in a light orange sauce). Assisi's casual atmosphere makes it a relaxing option for families, couples and friends alike.

Give it a miss
Serves Italian food that really is quite average. I would equate the quality of the food with a food court in a shopping centre - but triple the price. First served was an antipasto platter - this was made up of servings of different types of antipasto (I imagine from pre-supplied tins), which were of a poor quality. I ordered the 'scallops and prawn pasta special', the sauce was tasty, but I had a total of 1 whole scallop in the dish. I mentioned this to the waitress who 'would tell the chef'. No further comments or offers were made, particularly from the owner who avoided eye contact at the check out. My friends seafood dish was also suspiciously lacking in seafood... ridiculous. I would go elsewhere and give Assisi a miss.
