An open-plan kitchen and modern fit-out with chocolate and tan walls, dark wooden tables and floors and painted paper lanterns lend this Japanese eatery a stylish, sophisticated look - matching the modern, chic food perfectly. Part sushi train and part a la carte dining room, the space is well-equipped for the groups, couples, families and solo diners it attracts.
Popular dishes include the soft-shell crab sushi with cream cheese, strawberries, avocado, tobiko and flying fish egg and the salmon aburi sushi roll with avocado, crab, cucumber and salmon, sealed with a blowtorch. There's plenty to choose from, but whatever you do, make sure you leave room for dessert. While Japanese eateries in Australia so often get this part wrong, Ashin excels in the sweet department, with green tea, mango and black bean ice-cream that'll blow you away.

After passing by Ashin several times my Husband and I decided to try it for the first time last Friday evening. What a wonderful surprise it was too. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. We are so lucky to have this place so close to home! We will be back for sure.
