Birthday Dinner
Thought we'd try something a little different and Arirang stuck out!! Service was very friendly and prompt. Food was delicious!!!! Between 3 we shared; the Korean Tasting Plate for entree- yum, yum, yum! 3X BBQ set menus - chilli duk bulgogi, modum and seafood modum!! So much food, good fun!!! Be prepared to wait a while for the BBQ's to heat up and cook the food however worth it in the end! Would definitely recommend!!

Always a Great Dining Experience
Arirang on Barrack Street never fails to satisfy - their menu gives you enough choices to satisfy the picky eater but is not too mind-bogglingly extensive.
I find the set menus are the best way to go (LOVE the marinated beef!), as they come with a small variety of delicious sides to choose from and you can focus on conversation instead of cooking your own food at the table.

I also love having my own meal as opposed to passing everything around the table, so this is great when eating out in a group. Would definitely NOT recommend choosing the DIY barbecue when in a large group, as it was quite a disastrous experience when we did that a year ago. The two barbecues didn't heat up quickly enough to feed six hungry people and the remaining two friends who ordered a la carte got their food way before the barbecue was even warming up.

The atmosphere is a bustling on a Saturday evening. There were a few minor problems trying to attract staff attention but it didn't spoil the night.

Being Asian myself, I get rather prickly about restaurants serving unauthentic Asian dishes (ie. those tweaked to suit 'western' tastebuds), but Arirang pleases both Asian and Aussie friends alike. I especially love their range of yummy Asian desserts. They also have the standard commercial gelatos (eg peach fantasia) for those averse to sweet beans in their desserts.

Although the star rating is rather dismal, it was a dining experience to try. Bustling place where you get to cook your own. A great place to meet up with old friends as your food can go on as long as you want, as you're the cook. But beware, you come out smelling like a BBQ!
