Situated just outside the reflected glow of the CBD and a bit off the main drag of Elsternwick, Arabesque is a suburban local that nonetheless attracts plenty of trans-suburban attention. The reason for all the attention is the fresh and fragrant, delicate and exotic cuisine served here, blending Middle Eastern, Moroccan and Turkish elements seamlessly. The space is appropriately atmospheric, with a massive print of a bazaar scene on one wall and small Arabic trinkets littered sparingly about the room. The menu is full of simple and mildly inventive dishes, including classic favourites such as delicately spiced kibbeh and smoky baba ghanoush.

Addictive
Am I the last person in Melbourne to hear of this restaurant?
Those flavours..mmmmmmm...just delicious. I'm still reminiscing. Am going back next week. The chicken claypot is my recommendation...oh and the cabbage rolls.

Lively Lebanese
We saw this restaurant featured on SBS's Food Safari and determined to try it whilst holidaying in Melbourne. It did not disappoint. The food was lovely and the 4 of us enjoyed sharing 3 entrees and 2 main courses. The waiter was really helpful and made sure that we didn't over order. Oh to be in Melbourne so that we could eat here every week!

Outstanding flavours
Chef Baroud really knows his flavours and how to work everything in layers. You'll love the lamb sausages and the layered eggplant and lamb mince. But really we've been several times and each time try something new, and always come away satisfied. The only downside is the noise which can reach peak on a Saturday night with a full hungry crowd. Service is a highlight as well with very helpful staff.
