Apres

Apres, the new French restaurant in Potts Point, is a culinary venture by Rozelle's La Grande Bouffe owners Meredith and David Poirier. Along with partner and manager Joshua Renshaw, the team have successfully uprooted a slice of France and placed it lovingly in the heart of Potts Point.

Nestled away on the ground floor of the historic Minerva building, Apres (meaning "after" in French) is an authentic French culinary experience. The venue itself is stunning and, with its original 1960s art deco interior preserved, offers patrons an original and decadent dining encounter.

The menu, although small, is both modern and innovative, with traditional dishes such as bouillabaisse and duck confit being constantly reinvented. The extensive French wine selection allows for a wide range of dining choices. Whether it's a pre-party drink at the bar, a three-course meal, or a quiet post-dinner liqueur, Apres is the place to see and be seen.

Not what i was expecting..
Me and two other friends went to Apres last Tuesday for dinner..Upon arriving we sat and had a couple of drinks while waiting for our other friend to arrive before we were taken to our table..The decor was nice with red tea light candles glowing in the bar area.. Once we were at our table we ordered our food and wine..The waitress we had spoke more French than English and she didn't understand us most of the time and had to come back to our table 3 times just to make sure what we ordered was correct. The dishes that we had weren't anything special, the Escargot was ok, the Lamb dish was a bit chewy and didn't come with much at all, your almost left to buy the side serving of vegetables, otherwise your basically just eating a few slices of meat. The only thing perfectly cooked was the side serving of fries that we ordered.. The freshly baked bread that we had with butter was also lovely.
The wine list wasn't the best, i recommend bringing your own..

We went on a Tuesday, there was only 2 other tables occupied the whole night.

Finally, Sydney has a French restuarant to be proud of!
Definitely worth visiting. We had the calves liver and scallops for entree (both superb) and the steak and lamb for main (cooked to perfection). The staff were not only French, but also very nice. Loved everything about Apres, including the Lychee Martini - delicious. Highly recommended. We will be going back.

Vive La France!
Highly recommended! My wife and I had a superb meal at this new French restaurant with intimate and tasteful decor. I started with stuffed quail followed by a delicious 8 hour braised lamb shoulder. My wife had a roasted pork cutlet which was superb. The desserts, are to die for. We shared apple tarte tartin with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream, and chocolate fondant with orange puree and white chocolate ice cream. Well complemented french wines by the glass made it a perfect meal all at a reasonable price for this smart area of Sydney. The service by smart French speaking waiters was friendly, efficient and informative. We left happy and well fed. I am looking forward to our next visit already.
