Spread across three floors, this Italian eatery encompasses a downstairs gelateria and trattoria-style dining areas across the two upstairs levels. Owned by Nestle, it was designed by Maddison Architects, and was shortlisted for a hospitality interior design award in early 2006. Ex-Brunetti chef Biaggio Landolfi is responsible for the spectacularly decadent Italian pastries (which can cause internal conflict when held up as a contender to the truly excellent gelato available mere metres away), while chef Rosemaree Arceri's home-style Italian cooking is especially comforting during bleak Melbourne winters.
