Angelucci's makes a bold impression on the Chapel Street cafe-scape, splashing out a wide glassy frontage beside the Jam Factory shopping centre and cinema complex. As the Italian name would suggest, menu emphasis is given to Mediterranean-style seafood dishes such as spaghetti marinara and risotto di mare - fresh shellfish and seafood tossed in a white wine and garlic cream concoction. Mains include garlic prawns or calamari, as well as classics such as chicken parmigiana and steak. Desserts are also a classic Italian affair with zabaglione, panna cotta and cheesecakes. For something regular and hearty, try the Angelucci burger - grilled minced prime beef with cheese, tomato, bacon, onion, lettuce and egg in a focaccia bun with a side of fries. With the artwork of Australian artists, on the walls and video clips playing on the giant screen TV, Angelucci's attracts a varied mix of local workers, savvy young shoppers, and dining families for which the kids' menu is a bonus. After hours, a nightclub and bar open up on the second level with a DJ spinning commercial dance tracks.
