Pizza never goes out of fashion; sometimes it even leads the way, which is the case in this multi-award-winning dine-in and takeaway pizzeria in the Barossa Valley. Year after year, chef Damon de Ruiter garners high praise for innovative gourmet creations like the Smokey pizza, which features tomato sauce, cheese, mettwurst, lachsschinken, shallots, Schulz Butcher's Mallee Gum-smoked pork belly, and smoked chicken. While the pizzas steal most of the limelight here, you'll also find equally appetising fare to try, like lamb shank pie, beef vindaloo curry, and grilled Lilydale chicken breast on a spinach, pine nut and barley risotto.

Not recommended
6 of us dined at this restaurant and were all extremely disappointed with the poor quality of their pizzas and unprofessional staff. It took over 30 minutes before the waitress attended our table although they were not busy. We ordered 2 bottles of red wine which came out hot and undrinkable. When we commented about the poor quality, over priced pizzas and red wine we were abruptly ignored. Overall the worst dining experience we've had.

Roaring 40's Cafe
My boyfriend from L.A and I drove for 2 hours from Adelaide to try the "Best Pizza in Australia" as seen on ACA, and I must say, it was truely worth the journey up there to Angaston! We have both travelled world wide and this little gold mine in the Barrossa Valley has the best Caesar Salad my boyfriend and I have ever eaten anywhere! Its to die for! In fact, after demolishing a large, I ordered another one to go!The pizza was delicious and up there with the best even in Italy! Staff were friendly and service prompt! Will be taking family and friends to Angaston to experience this little gem in the Barrossa very soon!
