Since 2003, visitors to Chapel Street have experienced the wonderful smells of the artisanal baking that waft out of Amici Bakery Cafe. The scent of sourdough, traditional breads and sweet and savoury pastries is unmarred by chemicals, as all products are baked without anything artificial.
More than just a place for your pastry fix, however, Amici also does a roaring trade as a breakfast cafe. An unfussy approach and generous portions mean this is real comfort food - the Big Breakfast sees eggs paired with bacon, chipolatas and cottage potatoes, while the vegie option is a tower of spinach tofu and feta cheese. If you're not up for the challenge of a big meal, sit down with a coffee and one of their famous Portuguese custard tarts.
