Restaurant Information

Amaya

Though mainly offering modern, innovative Thai dishes, this new addition to the Potts Point scene also has a distinct Basque influence, transforming into a "pintxo bar" (pintxos are the Basque version of tapas - the name Amaya, too, is a Basque word meaning "higher place") on Sunday afternoons. Most days, though, the cuisine on offer here is imaginative, contemporary Thai - like the crispy skin duck leg salad with chilli flakes, served with orange and ginger dressing and sticky rice; or the slowly cooked pork ribs in sweet homemade sauce served with jasmine rice and stir-fried vegetables in oyster sauce. These are reasonable prices for Potts Point, and BYO means this place is bound for higher places.
