First things first: it's Alpino Restaurant - not albino! "Alpino" is actually Italian for "alpine", so it's no wonder that this Lygon Street eatery aims for the summit with its fresh range of pastas, pizzas and some broader international fare.

overpriced
How can a bowl of pasta with olive oil and garlic seriously cost $18.90? A $26 Saltimboca, overcooked Veal, and some steamed. cauli, broccoli, and carrots is disgustingly overpriced. For a few more dollars I could've gone to one of Melbourne's top restaurants and had a REAL meal made with REAL passion!
Italian restaurants would get more respect if they actually charged a decent price for their food and put some of mama's love back into their cooking. Lygon street's reputation is worse off because of this restaurant.
