Don't be put off by the decor: Albee's is just about the best, most traditional Malaysian food around. No bells or whistles here; this is just good, honest food, much of which is Hawker-style Malay, with a touch of Chinese for good measure. The laksas and beef rendang are popular menu choices, of course, but the house specialties here are the pandan chicken (small chunks of spiced chicken on the bone wrapped in pandan leaves and deep-fried) and the sambal prawns with petai (with petai beans, also alluringly known as stink beans, and a healthy dose of sambal chilli sauce). Albee's is a much-loved no-frills option for those who don't mind dated posters, fluorescent lighting and tiled walls by way of decoration, and after one visit, you'll be jumping on that bandwagon.
