With a menu as broad and diverse as Africa itself, you can expect something different and interesting from African Feeling. The menu features dishes from Sierra Leone to Zimbabwe and Egypt and includes more goat than one normally sees on a typical menu, as well as plenty of plantain and similar staples. The highlight, of course, is the abundance of African spices that send their unique fragrance drifting out onto King Street.

Beautiful food, beautiful people
I went to this restaurant last night and then found this page while I was searching for the restaurant's site.
It would be such a shame to let the previous review be the only comment on this place!
We had such a lovely time here. The goat dish with tonnes of herbs, and the coconut chicken were both amazing with ciapatti.
The restaurant owner came out to greet us himself, which was really nice as well. I recommend a visit if you're in Newtown.

Well I never!
Well, was I disappointed with this restaurant! Id walked past African Feeling many a time and was eager to try the many delectable delights appearing on the outside menu. HOWEVER, I fear that will now never be a reality. On Saturday night we arrived at the restaurant at 7.15pm and found a booked out restaurant with only two staff to serve. Sure, one can understand when a restaurant is short-staffed but it’s almost impossible to be sympathetic when it takes 1 hr and 15 minutes before you’re yet to see the entrees that you ordered or you have had to unsuccessfully ask three times for drinks. It also gets a little more grating when you are told you can’t have the corn bread, or any seafood or the crispy skin vegetables. And then, when you realise that the two waiters are the only staff in the restaurant and that the food is coming to diners piping hot from the microwave, that’s when we decided to politely make our apologies to the waiter, only to be told angrily that we should wait as our food was coming - in another 15 or so minutes!! Unfortunately, we had somewhere else to be and judging by the numerous other tables that were leaving en masse, so did many of the other customers.
