A family-run restaurant in central Dandenong, this place has been steadily building up a reputation for its traditional Afghani food since opening in 2007. No-frills and sparse, the food more than makes up for the restaurant's, shall we say, slightly fluorescent look.
Manto dumplings filled with minced lamb, onion, garlic, chives and coriander pretty much walk out the door - as do the kebabs, fanned while they cook over an open charcoal grill to infuse a smoky flavour. Popular with vegetarians is burani bonjon - a simple but delicious dish of juicy eggplant drizzled with yoghurt-mint sauce.
